Salted Triple Chocolate Pretzel Cookies

An intense chocolate cookie with three types of chocolate and salty pretzels!

Calling all chocolate lovers……

Semi sweet chocolate, cocoa powder and chocolate chips come together in creating a dark, intense cookie. Pretzels add a wondeful crunch and saltiness.

A one bowl cookie! Melt chocolate in a bowl, mix all the other ingredients together, scoop and bake. A great recipe for kiddos. Don’t worry mommy, you can help with the hot oven and clean up:)

Chop chocolate coarsely….

Stir together….


Sift all dry….



Stir in pretzels and chcolate chips….


Scoop and bake…




Serve with a tall glass of milk to the little ones after a long day after school.

Salted Triple Chocolate Pretzel Cookies


1/4 cup all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature

2 tablespoons dutch process cocoa powder

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup packed golden brown sugar

1/3 cup coarsely chopped pretzels

1/3 cup semi-sweet chcolate chips

for topping,

additional chopped pretzels

additional sea salt


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl and set aside.

Melt chopped chocolate in a large microwavable bowl for 1 – 1 1/2 minutes until just melted (stir every 30 seconds)

Stir in butter, cocoa powder, egg, vanilla extract and brown sugar with a wooden spoon until smooth.

Mix in the flour mixture and then the chopped pretzels and chocolate chips.

Scoop about 1/4 cup measure mounds on the prepared cookie sheet, spacing them apart.

Sprinkle chopped pretzels and little sea salt on top. Bake for 14-16 minutes, until the edges have just begun to set. Place cookie sheet on a wire rack to cool completely.

Makes 5 large cookies
